College reading is far more difficult than the reading we did in high school. Many of us will have to acquire new skills to read and retain the assignments we’re given in college.

You and your CRW reading tutor will devise a specific, customized strategy of reading for the sake of retention. You and your tutor will discuss the assignment, examine the text, and practice the various methods of reading until one works for you.

A CRW reading specialist can help students:

  • create a study plan,
  • develop specific textbook reading/study approaches,
  • use memory techniques,
  • boost vocabulary,
  • improve reading fluency and more.

The 30-minute to one-hour consultations can serve as a quick “check in” for students. More intensive, recurring (weekly) appointments can also be scheduled by student request. Schedule both via the CRW. Space is limited!
