How do I access my online textbooks (eBooks) published by Cengage?

If you purchased an eBook published by Cengage from the SUNY Adirondack Bookstore and having trouble accessing it, below are step-by-step directions provided from the bookstore.

eBook access: 

  • Go to www.YUZU.com
  • Click YUZU Barnes and Noble 
  • Sign in with the email you used for the purchase (this is a VERY important step! If you sign in with a different email, you will not find your eBook). 
  • Select 'Forgot Password'
  • Use the same email to request a 'reset password' email
  • You will receive an email from YUZU in less than a minute
  • Reset your password 
  • Go back to YUZU and sign up with your email address and new password
  • You will see a Cengage subscription here
  • Click 'Continue Reading' 
  • You will see a pop-up box in the top right corner
  • In that pop-up box, click on the word HERE
  • Click 'Continue' 
  • Click 'Reveal Access Code' 
  • Click 'Copy'
  • Click 'Visit Website'- this will take you to the Cengage website
  • If you don't have a Cengage account, you will need to create an account
  • At the top of the page there will be a link. Click on the link and paste the access code you copied earlier. It will probably turn red and tell you this code has been activated- in this case just exit out of it. 
  • Next, refer to the sheet provided by the bookstore. Search for your class/CRN
  • In the search bar, type in the eBook ISBN provided on the sheet (this number will always start with 978) and press enter. If you don't have the sheet, here is the link where you will find the list of ISBNs: https://www.cengage.com/coursepages/ACC_CU 
  • You will see your eBook. Click on 'Add Book' to library and 'Open Book'
  • You will now access your eBook through Cengage each time you need to get access
